There is perfect coherence among the 200 beaches from which it is worth mentioning the renown Varadero; or the ones from the east of the Capital city, that are a series of sand extensions, above all, Santa Maria del Mar, near the city (20 minutes a ride), which make it easier when you have little time to swim, or for a long Sunday overnight.

But there are many more distinguished ones: Santa Lucia, in the central-eastern province of Camaguey (north); Maria Aguilar in the Ancon peninsula, in the city of Trinidad, central-south; Guardalavaca in the Cuban north-western part, the province of Holguin; and other exotic such as Las Tumbas, in the western part, very near of the Lighthouse of the Cabo de San Antonio.

There are also the beaches of Cayo Largo del Sur, one of them, out of four of the kind, features white sands, very fine, that never get warm independently of the strength of the sun that bathes them.

Nevertheless, there are twists and turns, and small beaches, where it would be preferable to swim dressed like the very first day we were born, surrounded by the quietness of the unspoiled cay or to rest under the shadows of the coconut trees.

There is another curious beach in the Isla de la Juventud, of black sands, small, solitary and demanded by many tourists.

Beaches, apart from being a leisure option, to take a tan, read under an umbrella or simply to sleep, they feature an infrastructure in Cuba that allows practicing different sports such as the light sailing, aquabike, kayak, all kinds of trailers, run by different nautical facilities.

In a way or another, all nautical activities mentioned before are present in the Cuban beaches, due to the forced coincidence of the near wharfs, diving centers and different kinds of facilities.
